Baskets for Hampers

Baskets for Hampers - choosing the correct size

If you are looking to put together your own hampers, be sure that you buy baskets for hampers that are large enough to take the contents you intend to include.  Measure the largest items, quite often bottles, and take notice of the dimensions of the basket.  The extra space in a basket that is too large can easily be packed out with filling.  A basket that is too small is of little use, so buy too large than small.  If you intend to order large quantities, it may be wise to purchase one or two baskets to test the size.

Baskets for hampers - contents

Choose your contents with the recipient in mind.  If you're including breakable items and the hamper is to be posted, make sure you pack shock absorbing material around the breakable items.  Only include perishable items if you know the recipient will be opening the hamper as soon as it arrives.  Don't feel you are limited to food and drink; the hamper can include anything you think the recipient will like.

Baskets for hampers - Shapes

Most baskets for hampers are the traditional rectangular shape, but other shapes are available.  The rectangular shape is easily boxed for posting and has many uses once the contents have been removed.  Boxes for posting the hampers are available in our Hamper Packaging section.  The picnic basket shaped hamper is a little triclier to wrap up and post, but it makes for an attractive present.
